"Tina B. Prague Contemporary Art Festival"; Hotel Jalta, (A)void Gallery, Vernon Project and Bio Oko Cinema; Prague, Czech Republic. 2011
"TINA B. Festival is a unique event organized every year in Prague by Vernon Gallery. TINA B. stands for This Is Not Another Biennial and has repeatedly been organized under the auspices and with the support of the Czech Ministry of Culture and the City of Prague.
For this year’s edition, VestAndPage curate MAKING UP - TEARING DOWN, dedicated to Performance art by Nathalie Mba Bikoro (GAB), Melissa Garcia Aguirre (MEX), Christina Georgiou (CYP), Gisela Hochuli (CH), Snežana Golubović (SRB), Heike Pfingsten (GER) and Lynn Lu (SG).
MAKING UP - TEARING DOWN concentrates on radical transparency and eco-intelligence in contemporary Performance art. Today exists an upcoming generation of live artists whose actions are aimed to explore what it means to be intelligent and fully aware not only about human emotions, habits and social lives, but also about environmental issues, scanning into the sense in which people can become more caring about the ecological impacts of how to live and create mechanisms for positive change. As consciousness and knowledge may guide people’s decisions in better directions, the present performances are addressed to awakening the mind to investigate more profoundly cutting edge ideas in fields like economics, taxonomy, information, science, and particularly on what constitutes human habitats, analyzing how and why people’s surroundings transform, evolve or devolve."
